Abstract: A very strong magnetoelastic effect in the CeCo1−xFexSi alloys is reported. The strength of the magnetostrictive
effect can be tuned upon changing x. The moderate low-temperature linear magnetostriction observed at low
Fe concentrations becomes very large (L
L (16T, 2K) = 3 × 10−3) around the critical concentration xc ≈ 0.23 at
which the long-range antiferromagnetic order vanishes. Upon increasing doping through the nonmagnetic region
(x > xc), the magnetostriction strength gradually weakens again. The interplay between magnetic order and the
Kondo screening appears to cause an enhanced valence susceptibility slightly changing the Ce ions valence,
ultimately triggering the large magnetostriction observed around the critical concentration. Previous studies
of the evolution of the lattice parameters with x as well as magnetization and x-ray absorption spectroscopy
measurements support this hypothesis.

Abstract: We report on the scaling of transport properties around the vortex melting in YBa2Cu3O7-? oriented-twin single crystals in applied magnetic fields between 1 T and 18 T. We find that for the whole measured field range the linear resistivity scales as ?(t,?)?tsyF

Abstract: We report on transport and ac susceptibility studies below the peak effect in twinned YBa2Cu3O7 single crystals. We find that disorder generated at the peak effect can be partially inhibited by forcing vortices to move with an ac driving current. The vortex system can be additionally ordered below a well-defined temperature where elastic interactions between vortices overcome pinning-generated stress and a plastic-to-elastic crossover seems to occur. The combined effect of these two processes results in vortex structures with different mobilities that give place to history effects.

Abstract: Multiterminal measurements using experimental technique on twinned and untwinned YBa2Cu3O7-? crystals were presented. Inhomogeneous current distribution acting upon an uncorrelated vortex system showed that the dissipation of voltage at the top was larger than at the bottom. The behavior of the current voltage curves showed that the result Vtop = Vbot was a consequence of the limited voltage sensitivity.
