The Department of Interaction of Radiation with Matter is composed by two Divisions: Atomic Collisions and Surface Physics and Nuclear Fusion and Plasma Physics belonging to the Gerencia of Physics of the National Atomic Energy Commission.

The Department is located at the Bariloche Atomic Center (Avda. Ezequiel Bustillo 9500, 8400 San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, ARGENTINA – Ph: +54 294 4445100). The actual Head of the Department is Dr. Esteban A. Sánchez

The first laboratory in Argentina dedicated to Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics was created in 1960 by Prof. Wolfgang Meckbach. Today, the “Atomic Collisions and Surface Physics Division” (AC&SP Division) includes two groups in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics and Surface Physics.    Old staff.   Actual staff.
