Temas de investigación:
Física de rayos cósmicos y astropartículas: investigo el origen, la naturaleza y la propagación de los rayos cósmicos ultraenergéticos, las partículas de mayor energía detectadas. El análisis de los datos del espectro, la composición y la distribución de las direcciones de llegada de los rayos rayos cósmicos detectados por el Observatorio Pierre Auger provee importantes claves para su comprensión. Durante su propagación desde las fuentes a la Tierra los rayos cósmicos interactúan con los fondos de radiación y los campos magnéticos presentes en el medio intergaláctico, lo que da lugar a pérdidas de energía y deflexión de las trayectorias de las partículas. Estos efectos deben ser tenidos en cuenta para comparar las predicciones de modelos para el origen de los mismos con las observaciones.
Otros temas de mi interés: cosmología, lentes gravitatorias, fondo de microondas.
