Our group is devoted to the understanding of the physics of hard and soft condensed materials, of basic or applied interest, from the theoretical perspective and in the interpretation of the experimental results. Particular topics include research on transport and spectral properties of nano-structured systems, statistical physics of condensed matter systems, devices and applications, materials modelling and computational techniques. To that end we develop analytical and high-performance numerical techniques necessary for those studies. We also contribute to the training of young researchers, mainly at the Instituto Balseiro , and to the dissemination of science in society.

The group belongs to the Physics Department at the Centro Atómico Bariloche.  The staff is currently composed of 17 researchers and a variable number of Master and PhD students as well as postdoctoral researchers.
